My Story

 In 2020, my life changed forever.
I became a widow when my husband of 7 ½ years passed away from a rare brain infection at the height of the pandemic. The heartbreak was unimaginable. Yet, in the depth of that grief, Allah gave me comfort and purpose in a way I never expected. He entrusted me with a mission.

From that moment on, what had started as survival became the seed of Grow with Tahirah.

In 2021, I poured my pain into Hearts Connecting, which today continues to serve families and communities through Virtual Memorial Services, an elegant and professional way for faith-based families to honor and remember their loved ones.

That same year, I also created the first-of-its-kind Six-Week Grief Recovery Group for Muslim widows and women of faith, offering a safe and supportive space for women navigating loss and major life transitions. Both of these remain part of Grow with Tahirah today: one designed for families, the other designed for women rebuilding after loss.

At the time, I also lost my long-time job in education. At first, I felt worried, but soon realized it was Allah’s way of freeing me to walk fully into my purpose. I trusted the process, even while battling a probate case and carrying the weight of healing.

When the case finally ended, I exhaled deeply for the first time in years. I booked a flight to Morocco to see my father, and that trip opened the door to something even bigger: I realized California was no longer home. My heart was ready to explore the world.

Travel led me to North and West Africa, and eventually to Senegal, where I met and fell deeply in love with my husband. Today, I am happily married, a bonus mother of three, rooted in Senegal, and building a life that blends purpose, passion, and faith.

Along the way, I made a conscious decision to pursue financial stability. I stepped into a new path and became a certified digital marketer. Today, I work as a Business Systems & Growth Strategist, supporting agencies, schools, and entrepreneurs in streamlining their marketing and communication through structured systems and automation, helping them improve consistency, engagement, and overall impact.

Digital marketing is not separate from my purpose; it complements it. It allows me to build, sustain, and expand the work I do, while also creating opportunities to teach women practical, income-generating skills as they rebuild their lives.

Grow with Tahirah is the home of all of these experiences. It’s where grief meets growth. It’s where women are supported as they heal, rediscover who they are, and permit themselves to dream again.

But this is not just my story.

This is a space where your pain becomes the foundation for strengthening your relationship with Allah, doing the inner work, and transforming your lived experience into purpose.

Everything I offer is shaped by my journey: from widowhood to healing, from letting go to starting over, from California to Senegal. My story is proof that no matter where you are in your transition, with faith, courage, and guidance, you can rise again.
